A low carbon / highly sustainable design including the embodied carbon footprint from the outset and life-cycle performance, whilst still creating a layout that suited the family’s specific way of living. In addition, the budget had been set lower than a comparable project of this scale.

The design harnesses the environmental and cost benefits associated with timber construction with particular focus on material specification to keep quality high but cost low.
