Mixed Use

ECE Westworks were invited to submit proposals for a 30 storey mixed use tower in a central Birmingham location to provide circa 500 new Purpose Built Student Accommodation bedspaces with additional retail uses and commercial spaces.  Due to the constrained and tight nature of the site the development brief was to explore modular offsite solutions in terms of cladding elements and internal fixtures and fittings.

The proposal would be predominantly brick clad with a subtle grey appearance and strong urban form to compliment and sit within a rapidly developing skyline. At ground level the building footprint has been recessed to allow urban realm improvements and spill-out spaces for the proposed commercial and retail spaces.
